Various Floor Coverings

If growing directly on the ground, stop reading 🙂 Floors can be as simple or involved as you desire. At a minimum, a heavy landscape fabric with 3/4″ crushed gravel (or similar) on top. For concrete floors, including a french drain is a good idea but not always necessary. If you live in an area with ground squirles and such, we install “gopher wire” over the landscape fabric to help keep those diggers out. Or you can up it a notch and request a product called geo ground grid which when stretched taut, creates diamond shaped areas for the gravel which creates a firmer surface for walking, pushing a wheel barrow, pulling a cart etc. A majority of our gravel floors have the ground grid installed.
